Slouchy riptide hat

So I saw this beautiful hat and instantly fell in love with it. Coincidentally, I had just bought myself a stash of small mixed browns yarn balls, so hey, why not.

The nice thing about this pattern is that Meladora offers both a right and left handed version in the form of a video tutorial or just a written pattern. It's easy to follow (at least for me) and was pretty fun to do.
My only problem is, because I'm from the UK, we don't have worsted weight yarn here. A quick google check informed me that that was the same as 'Aran' but it appears I may be mistaken because even though I increased the starting chain size as 66 chains was like 2 inches too small for me, my hat still ended up on the snug side and doesn't look as long as the picture in the tutorial does. I have an average sided adult head too... or so I thought. It would have been a lot easier had the hat had measurements and/or a gauge. That's just something to consider if you want to make your own.

Overall, I am happy with how it came out. Just have to stretch out the band a little I guess.
